Kathleen Heger - The Gift of Creativity

I believe that everyone has a gift. Some gifts are more apparent than others but each one of us has something to share with this world.

For as long as I can remember, I understood that my inspiration to create came from deep within me. My gift. I am constantly learning from the process and the results.

I was raised in Boston, Massachusetts USA, and experienced my first oil painting class at the age of eleven. A very generous Art Instructor from a neighborhood Senior Citizen's Program invited me to join her class after admiring my art. Not only did she present me with my first oil painting set straight from Paris but she took me under her wing and helped fuel my lifelong passion for creating art. The snow scene on my Contact Page is my very first oil painting from this class. Cherished for life!

I look back with such fond memories of my first experience with a professional brush, canvas and the paints all while being surrounded by the odors of turpentine and linseed oil. Those scents today can still trigger the same creative excitement I felt back then!

I enjoy capturing the combination of life, energy and love within my paintings. Through my art, I hope to share my perspective of various subjects that I may find intriguing. The ordinary is quite beautiful to me. I hope it is for you, too.
